31st December 2020

New Years Eve and we hope that 2021 will be a better year for everyone.

It’s been a crazy time, Covid has tried and tested us all in many different ways.

Being on Koh Tao we are so so fortunate. No Covid to date (touch wood). It’s like we are in a bubble. We really can’t comprehend what it must be like for some of you and how incredibly frustrating it must be to be so restricted.

It has certainly put things into prospective of what’s important, essential and how/what we can live without.

I hope you all know that if it made sense for us to come home, we would. If only we could transport you all here ;-D

Let us see what 2021 brings.

We love and miss you all very much!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

We hope everyone is well. This month has flown and thinking back, I’m struggling to thing of what’s gone on. I’ve baked a few times, finally taught a marine conservation course to 2 instructors living on the island, joined a couple of land clean ups / dive site clean ups and have done the odd snorkel to collect data on coral health. So I’ve been keeping myself pretty busy actually. There’s never a been a day where I’ve just been lazing at home doing nothing. What’s really scary is that my body is feeling it. I seem to be a little more achy these days and a lot slower. What’s that all about?! I DON’T LIKE IT! I’m not 18 anymore ;-( ..it’s OK, my mind is young 😀

Simon was away in the north of Thailand with the boys (Tim, Big Rich & Macca) doing ‘Discover Scuba Dive’ with school kids. Not very exciting teaching but the kids loved it apparently!

Today I made some mince pies for Simon, I’m not a great fan of mincemeat but love the picking at the pastry LOL ..they turned out well. Simon gave me the ‘Paul Hollywood’ handshake. If you don’t watch the Great British Bake Off, you’ll not understand 😀

Lovely pastry

Tomorrow I have a busy day, 2 meetings, a micro plastics survey and then playing RISK 😀
