Day 192 – Koh Tao

Today, Jenny completed David’s Deep Spec course.
They went to a max depth of 40m in some great conditions at Chumphon Pinnacle that we have not seen in months.. Spectacular.

After 2 deep dives in the morning, Dave and Jen headed out for 2 more dives… This was Dave’s last day on Koh Tao, and he wanted to reach the famed “100th dive”… Tradition dictates that this dive should be done naked.

After another perfect condition dive at Mango Bay (dive number 99), the boat dropped them off at Red Rock, where David completed the Naked dive challenge.

Footage was shot but unfortunately (or fortunately) condensation built up in the case and only a couple of shots came out… To be posted soon.

That evening, we went to Dirty Nellys for a nice pizza, then home…

Day 191 – Koh Tao

Teaching Deep Speciality course today/tomorrow so up early and motored down to Crystal at 7am for dives 1 & 2.  Dive destination today was Chumphon Pinnacle.

The last time I dove there the visibility was 2 meters max but today it was 20 meters plus ;-D  Massive barracuda, trevalli, giant groupers and I spotted a baby moray eel which was really cool.  Both dives were awesome and Dave (Dive Master) was an excellent student.

Si joined in the action on the 2nd dive (he is taking things very carefully due to the sinus issues) with no significant problems.

Tomorrow we’ll hit 40 meters and hopefully the visibility will be the same, if not better  …fingers crossed!

Tonight, Si’s cooking spag bol for dinner  Mmmm

Entertaining? Not my bag, but different!!
