Day 190 – Koh Tao

Today was the final day of Marine Resource Management.

6 days of intensive training, both theorectical and practical in all aspects of conservation…. Dave and Jane were the students, with Nathan heading the realm and Debbie, Jen and Me assisting…

Later that day we went to the “The Queen” cabaret show.

Entertaining? Not my bag, but different!!

Day 188 – Koh Tao

Today, it was back into the classroom for some theory stuff.

After a quick bite to eat for Lunch, we headed to Shark Bay to study the original Biorock, which is a long strip of metal on the ocean floor about 3m deep. The metal is supplied with low voltage electricity to increase coral growth by up to 5x

Since this Biorock has been down for 5 years, it has an enormous amount of coral growth.

We spent a couple of hours snorkelling, doing surveys on the Biorock before going to look for some Blacktip sharks. Sadly, no sign of them..

Back to Crystal, and the weather was coming in strong, so we hit the road home before the heavens opened.

Later on, we nipped out for some takeaway Thai food, and back home for a cuddle.
